Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Claire Pulignano has been designing and sewing since the age of three. Her passion began while assisting her grandmother on a variety of her own pieces. Over the years, Claire has added much to her repertoire. While the majority of her sewing is done with a Bernina sewing machine, she also has experience with hand-stitching, cross-stitching, embroidery, and knitting.

In May 2007, Claire started her fashion label, Bella Vita. Today, Claire markets and sells to individuals as well as local boutiques, including The Village Ladybug in Jacksonville, Florida and Calzatura Women’s Fashion in Gainesville, Florida. Due to temporary time constraints, production is limited, but not restricted, to jewelry and accessories. However, Claire is currently designing and creating new collections expected Summer 2009.

As a senior at the University of Florida, Claire will graduate with a Masters in Elementary Education and a minor in Business Administration in December 2010. While she also has a passion for children and teaching, after graduation, Claire plans to focus on her collections and gain experience in the fashion industry. Over time, Claire hopes to expand Bella Vita in all directions.
